Welcome to the Berkeley IEEE Wiki. Here, we try to store all of our collective information about how to best run IEEE, and pass along information about academics and industry.

History

The Berkeley IEEE student chapter was established in 1912 and is part of Region 6 (US - West) of the national branch. Since we are part of national organization, we are provided with numerous benefits, such as monetary funding. All IEEE members are also required to register themselves as National IEEE members.

The EECS Community

One of the main goals of IEEE is to benefit the EECS community. As such, our members participate in a variety of outreach and industry related activities such as inter-organization socials and information sessions in order to spread awareness and better acquaint ourselves with company contacts.

We also participate in events such as Cal Day, when we do soldering and project demos for visitors, host tours of Cory/Soda to prospective students, and speak on panels to give information on the EECS program.
